Summer Vacation: One Week In
>> Monday, June 22, 2009
As of today, I've been off work for a full week and it has been a blessing. With so few responsibilities, I can finally focus on getting my life in order. Of course, I've tried to focus on that several times over the last few months and things never really seem to be in order... more manageable, maybe, but not in order.
I have a ton of work to do over the summer, but having the majority of each day to just relax makes the few hours of work much more bearable. Even more than a typical summer vacation, I've spent the majority of my time either reading or playing games. The book of the moment is Mike Huckabee's Character Makes a Difference: Where I'm From, Where I've Been, and What I Believe. It was Jenni's book, but I'm not sure if she ever read it. I'll post a review of the book when I finish it. The game of the moment is Warhammer 40K. This game is great for me right now because you are encouraged to paint the miniatures and that burns up a ton of time that I might otherwise spend thinking too much and getting depressed.
Unfortunately, I haven't worked at all on my big summer project. I was just so burned out by the end of the year that the urge to do anything school related has not returned yet. I might get to it later on this summer. Time will tell. For now, you can see a semi-preview at www.cornwellsclass.com. The first thing to get changed will be that ugly brown patterned background, but like I said, I'm not sure when I'll have the motivation to work on it.
For those reading, if you get a summer break, I hope you're enjoying it... and if you don't, you should have been a teacher!
